Senter Takes Round Two by Storm

January 12th, 2009
news

Erie, PA -- Round two of Xtreme Online Motorsports Winter Shootout Series would see new faces tearing up the asphalt at the Lowes quarter mile. Rs Senter a new comer to XOM would surprise everyone by running an extremely fast time in practice.

Due to the points invert for the heat races; the front row for the first heat would consist of Chris Bohlman and Tyler Breeding. Keith Medeiros Jr. was set to start third but ignition troubles plagued his number 36 machine and he was forced to sit out the heat.

As the race got underway, Breeding would show his muscle early and make a very impressive outside pass on Bohlman going into turn one. Bohlman and Breeding battled it out, but in the end - Breeding came home with the heat win and Bohlman took second.

The second heat would have another newcomer to XOM starting pole in Tyler Schortgen, Tucker Wingo would start Second, Charles Needham third, Kyle Armstrong fourth, and Rs Senter starting fifth. Tucker Wingo would break out to an early lead, but Rs Senter would charge hard fighting his way quickly through the pack. Wingo opened up an impressive lead but it was no match for the quickness of Senter. Wingo fought valiantly to hold off Senter, but in the end - a last lap pass would get Rs Senter the heat win.

The 35 lap feature event was set to get under way with Tyler Breeding leading them to the green, with a very eager Rs Senter starting outside poll. As the green flag flew, Breeding would win the drag race into turn one, with Senter, Bohlman, and Wingo closely in tow. Breeding would look strong, holding the lead until lap 6 when a slip up sent him spinning into turn one, sending him to the rear.

Senter would now set the pace followed by, Wingo, Medeiros Jr. (who got the ignition working for the feature, but it would again fail under this same caution, ending his racing night), Bohlman, and Philip Neace. Breeding would work his way back up to fourth, but on a lap 14 restart a broken axle would send him spinning into the infield and end his night, and bring out another caution.

Wingo would start second for the restart, and would take advantage, getting a run and slightly moving Senter up the track coming off the corner. on lap 15 Wingo would take the lead away from Senter and would hold it until lap 17 when contact going into turn one between himself and Senter would send him spinning out into the turn one grass.

The lineup would now be, Senter, Bohlman, Kyle Armstrong, and Philip Neace. On lap 25 a caution would fly, and Wingo, who fought hard back to the front would start third. Wingo quickly passed Bohlman and was in hot pursuit of Senter; but Senter's Consistence payed off and Wingo proved to have nothing for Senter. With only three laps to go Wingo would slide sideways out of turn four, giving away second back to Bohlman, Wingo would recover however getting his car moving again in third position. Senter would win the race in dominant fashion, Bohlman second, and Wingo third. Wingo sits atop the points after two rounds of exciting action, but Medeiros Jr., Bohlman, and Breeding sit within 30 points of Wingo heading into Round 3.

January 12th, 2009
news

Erie, PA -- Xtreme Online Motorsport's First winter shootout race was Wednesday January 7th. With a small show up, came a big bang. With an eight car field and one heat race, the Winter Shootout started off great. Qualifying proved to be Tyler Breeding's time to shine, scoring the pole for the only qualifying session in the Winter Shootout. Breeding would start fourth because of a 4 car invert but would quickly move to the lead. Andy Warren started 3rd and fought hard, chasing down Breeding as his car started to go away. Warren Took the win, and Breeding finished second for the heat race. After the race Breeding stated; "I cant believe I left my qualifying set. in".

The grid for the 30 lap main was set and the drivers were ready to pace and go green. The greens out and the field is Hard on the brakes into turn one. As the drivers scrambled for room and positions, drivers were 3 wide, and seeping into the grass coming off of two. As the laps ran down, the track was heating up and drivers were getting looser. Leader Tyler Breeding was digging sideways through the corners at times. While secound place Warren was chasing down leader Breeding, entered a scuffle coming out of corner number two but recovered quickly.

While the race came to its closing laps, Keith Medeiros Jr came from the back to second and was in contention of winning. Running down Breeding wasn't easy but the gap was shrinking. In the mean time Andy Warren made his way by Tucker Wingo to take third place back.

Medeiros just caught Breeding's back bumper coming out of turn two, Heading into three Medeiros had a fender under Breeding. Breeding drove in soft as Medeiros Pushed up and just made enough contact to turn Breeding around. No yellow, and it was all Andy Warren and Keith Medeiros jr now. One to go at the line, Medeiros had to much of a lead for Warren and he would have to slip real bad to lose this one. Going into three for the final time, Medeiros had a slight bobble, but not enough for Warren, and Keith Medeiros Jr takes Round one for the boys.
